Memorial Committee

 Purpose:  

To review all requests for placing memorials and/or gifts within or on church property and make recommendations to the Vestry in writing regarding whether memorials or gifts would be appropriate to the church's needs.

Duties:

• Keep a permanent record of all  memorials and gifts, the donors thereof and the date installed;
• Ensure that any memorials or gifts placed in the church or its grounds are in keeping with the historical nature of Christ Church;
• Maintain a list of appropriate memorials or gifts from which a donor could choose;
• Take charge of undesignated memorial funds and recommend to the vestry in writing how they should be used;
• Make recommendations to the Vestry regarding the timely and appropriate use of any designated monetary gifts.  The committee has authority to expend up to $200.00 without vestry approval;
• Arrange for the safekeeping and preservation of historical records, vestry books and old parish registers and documents of the church; and
• Assist with any matter pertaining to the history of Christ Church Parish.
